Monica Lee
Monica Lee is a principal and is responsible for the day-to-day management of the operation, including the investment evaluation, underwriting, and management of the investments. Ms. Lee has over 20 years of experience in residential and commercial loan underwriting, loan workouts, and special asset management.
From 1977 to 1983, Ms. Lee managed the Major Appliances, Southeast Asia Division of General Electric Company in Hong Kong. From 1985 to 1995, she was employed by Broward Federal Bank/California Federal Bank in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. During Ms. Lee’s 10-year tenure with the Bank, she specialized in evaluating property value and analyzed the safety of loans; minimizing the Bank’s risk by selecting appropriate collateral. She also managed a portfolio of commercial and residential loans and commercial and residential foreclosure properties and worked extensively on legal issues regarding real estate title and real estate workout, and real estate foreclosures.
In 1995, Ms. Lee founded Commercial Asset Management of South Florida, Inc. for which she served as the principal real estate broker acting as liaison for financial institutions to dispose of real estate properties and managed an extensive portfolio of income-producing properties. In 2000, she formed Gala Relocation Management, Inc. and currently serves as Gala’s principal real estate broker. During 2000, Ms. Lee founded Progressive Financial Group, Inc., a Florida licensed mortgage lender, for which she currently serves as President. Progressive Financial Group specializes in equity loans and mezzanine loans in connection with commercial and residential properties. Ms. Lee has underwritten conventional, equity, joint venture, mezzanine loans on commercial and residential loans in excess of $750 million to date and has invested in the commercial and residential real estate in excess of $150 million to date.
Ms. Lee received her formal education and training in Hong Kong. She was designated as a Real Property Administrator (RPA) from the Building Owners and Managers Institute International (BOMI) in 1993 and Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) in 2007. She is a member of Vistage International/The Executive Committee (TEC), the world’s largest CEO and C-Level Executive membership organization. Members of TEC are accepted by invitation only. Ms. Lee is also a member of Realtors Commercial Alliance and holds the following professional licenses: Real Estate Broker since 1989; Mortgage Broker since 1991; and Community Association Manager since 1992.
Sarah Scheel
Ms. Sarah Scheel is a principal and managing member of the General Partner. She has over 20 years experience in commercial and consumer lending, including underwriting, loan workout, and government financing. From 1987 to 1992, Ms. Scheel was employed by National City Bank in Ohio. She was groomed by National City Bank through its commercial asset management program and was promoted to Commercial Manager for the Bank’s largest division within its market place. She was twice recognized as Manager of the Year based on loan volume, funding and profitability. From 1992 to 1996, Ms. Scheel served as Controller for a privately-held biomedical company, during which period she helped grow the company’s sales 400%. In 1996, Ms. Scheel was recruited by Republic Bank in Ohio to serve as its commercial manager and was promoted to regional manager after six months. She was recognized as Manager of the Year for three consecutive years and was also recognized as its second highest ranked government lender for a three state area. In 2003, Ms. Scheel joined Citizen’s Bank, the world’s seventh largest financial institution, where she served as a commercial real estate lender in Ohio. During 2005, she became the Chief Financial Officer for a group of companies, SPI Publishing Inc., United Federal Properties Management, Fast Eddy’s Chop Shop, Glen Eagles Holdings LLC, and Crystal Construction Inc., which companies own and operate a combined total of over $56 million in assets.
Ms. Scheel received her BSBA in Finance and Management Information Systems from Bowling Green State University and her Master’s in Business Administration from Baldwin Wallace College. From 1997 through 2002, she served on the board of the Middleburg Heights Chamber of Commerce, was the President of Business and Professional Woman in 2002 and was a member of the Rotary Club from 2001 to 2004. She currently is a member of CREW, Commercial Real Estate for Women and ICSC, International Conference of Shopping Centers.
Fred Lee
Mr. Fred Lee is a principal. Mr. Lee has over 18 years of experience in residential and commercial real estate investment and private lending. During 1972, Mr. Lee established a manufacturing business in electronic products, appliances, and computer parts in Asia. Based on Mr. Lee’s manufacturing and industrial experience, he performed re-engineering consulting work for the hotel and hospitality industry during the 1980’s in the United States. In 1989, he commenced his real estate investment and private lending consulting business in Hong Kong, China, Costa Rica, and the United States. In 1997, Mr. Lee founded Radiant Solutions, Inc., a real estate investment company, and through this entity facilitated approximately 1,000 real estate transactions and defaulted note buying in excess of $100 million. During 2000, Mr. Lee and Monica Lee launched Progressive Financial Group, Inc., a fully licensed mortgage lender, that provides equity loan programs, mezzanine financing and joint venture opportunities to residential and commercial real estate investors. Mr. Lee received his formal education and training in Hong Kong. He is currently a member of Rotary Club.
Benjamin Lee
Benjamin Lee is a principal. Mr. Lee has over 10 years experience in the real estate industry in the evaluation, acquisition, disposition, rehabilitation, and financing of over 500 residential and commercial properties. From 2000 to 2001, Mr. Lee held a financial analyst and consulting position in Singapore at North 22 Technology Services Group and was an integral part in aiding the launch of its initial public offering. North 22 TSG, a full-service application service provider (ASP), was the first Hong Kong-based corporation listed on the Singapore stock exchange. After returning from overseas, in 2001 Mr. Lee founded the real estate investment and consulting firm, Estate Works LLC. From 2002 to 2005, he was also a principal of a title insurance company, Security First Title Solutions. Since 2000, Mr. Lee has evaluated projects and performed risk analysis and mitigation for Progressive Financial Group, Inc. Mr. Lee travels nationwide to educate, mentor, and promote residential and commercial equity lending and mezzanine financing. He is a licensed real estate salesperson, mortgage broker and title insurance agent in the State of Florida. Mr. Lee is also a member of Vistage International/The Executive Committee (TEC), the world’s largest CEO and C-Level Executive membership organization. Members of TEC are accepted by invitation only. He anticipates the receipt of his Certified Commercial Investment Manager (CCIM) designation in late 2007.
Mr. Lee graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and a Masters of Business Administration degree in Entrepreneurship.
